Dr. Carl Y. Seon joins Whole Health Orthopedic Institute after receiving a double lung transplant as a result of COVID-19 complications.
[MEADVILLE, PA, AUGUST 4] –Dr.Carl Y.Seon, Board-Certified, Fellowship-Trained Shoulder & Elbow Surgeonreceived a double-lung transplant in Pittsburgh on February 25, 2021, after developing pulmonary fibrosis; a rare complication of COVID-19 where the lung tissue becomes scarred and damaged.
After an incredible and inspirational outpouring of public support from his family, friends, and co-workers, more than a year of rehabilitation and meeting with his transplant team weekly, Dr. Seon is feeling stronger than ever and ready to get back to work. He will officially begin seeing patients at Whole Health Orthopedic Institute in downtown Meadville in September.

Dr. Seon received his undergraduate degree from The University of Michigan(Ann Arbor, MI), his Doctor of Medicine from The State University of New York, School of Medicine & Biomedical Sciences (Buffalo, NY), and completed a Shoulder & ElbowSurgery Fellowship at Thomas Jefferson University/Rothman Institute (Philadephia, PA).
