Ryan G. Molli, D.O., F.A.A.H.K.S.
Dr. Molli is the founder and CEO of Whole Health Joint Replacement Institute, which opened in January 2018. He is a native of Northwestern Pennsylvania and did his undergraduate and medical school in Erie, PA at Mercyhurst College and Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) respectively. He then completed a 5-year orthopedic surgery residency in the Metro-Detroit area through the St. John-Providence Health System. Upon completion of his residency, he completed an intense one year Adult Reconstruction/Total Joint Fellowship in Columbus, OH. Dr. Molli practiced in a private practice setting in the Metro-Detroit area as an Adult Reconstruction specialist for nearly 5 years before relocating back to his hometown of Meadville, PA in 2015. Dr. Molli had a vision of creating an Adult Reconstruction/Total Joint Center of Excellence, which is focused on quality sub-specialty orthopedic care and the total “patient experience”. When he created Whole Health JRI, it was created as a practice in which pre-operative risk stratification, medical optimization, unparalleled pre-operative preparation/education and exceptional surgical/post-surgical care. In addition to all of these medical components are ongoing data-driven research projects along with innovative practice development projects.
In addition to Dr. Molli’s clinical practice, he is an avid orthopedic consultant and surgical proctor that travels both nationally and internationally to teach direct anterior total hip procedures, patient-specific total knee procedures and unicompartment knee replacement procedures. He has travelled and lectured all over the United States as well as in multiple European countries, Canada and Australia. He is one of only 4 designing surgeons on the Medacta MOTO Partial Knee Replacement project, which was globally released in March 2018 at the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS) Annual Meeting in New Orleans, LA.
Dr. Molli has been published in multiple medical journals over the years and currently participates in multiple ongoing research projects. He established the Whole Health Research Institute along with Molli Medical Consulting Company (M2C2), which is an orthopedic implant/instrument and practice development consulting company. He is constantly refining his surgical and practice techniques in order to better serve his patients and his community. His passion for orthopedic adult reconstruction and continual desire to establish “best-practice” strategies places him in a very unique category of orthopedic innovators and teachers.
Philip A. Frndak, D.O., F.A.A.H.K.S.
Dr. Frndak began a practice in orthopedic surgery in our tristate area in 1994. At that time, he was the only surgeon in the region with fellowship training in hip and knee replacement. Under his guidance, Meadville Medical Center garnered numerous state and national awards for joint replacement including: America’s 100 Best Hospitals for Joint Replacement, National Premier Award for Excellence in Total Joint Arthroplasty, The Blue Distinction Award for Hip and Knee Replacement, and Health Grades 5-Star Recipient for both Total Hip Replacement and Total Knee Replacement.
Prior to entering medical school, Dr. Frndak received an undergraduate degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Pennsylvania. His education and three years of practice as a Physical Therapist created a unique appreciation for the use of proper timing as well as techniques in postoperative rehabilitation. This expertise continues to be a hallmark of his patient care approach.
Following medical school at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and Delaware Valley Medical Center, Dr. Frndak proceeded to complete a residency in Orthopedic Surgery at Doctors Hospital of Columbus, Ohio. Subsequently, he concluded a fellowship in the reconstruction of the adult hip and knee under world-renowned joint replacement surgeons Dr. Thomas Mallory and Dr. Adolph Lombardi. He currently maintains Board Certification in Orthopedic Surgery and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Hip and Knee Surgeons.
In addition to clinical practice, Dr. Frndak values rigorous standards in scientific research directed toward optimizing patient outcomes. He offers professional peer-review services for Arthroplasty Today, a professional joint replacement journal, and conducts educational seminars for orthopedic residents in Applied Anatomy and Surgical Approaches.
When Whole Health Joint Replacement Institute opened in January 2018, Dr. Frndak commenced an association with Dr. Ryan Molli. They are dedicated to continuing exceptional patient medical/surgical care as well as the advancement research in the field of hip and knee joint replacement.

This medical procedure and related activity was, by far, the absolute best I have encountered! I am without reservation, 100% satisfied with my surgical outcome and will return for my other knee. Thank you to all staff involved.
Everyone was pleasant and professional. They were concerned about pain level and were accommodating. Pleased with the results of my new knees!
Thank you to Dr. Molli and his staff for repairing my knees. I finally feel a light at the end of the tunnel is in my near future. The only mistake I made was not coming to Whole Health first.
Dr. Molli and the entire staff were exceptional. Recovery is going great because of the education provided prior to surgery. I am the third member of my family to have either a hip or knee replacement and we are all believers in the methods used at Whole Health.
Wonderful experience! I have told many people how amazing the people are at Whole Health. Very happy with my partial knee replacement!
Dr. Molli is a miracle worker! My hip surgery done by his technique was incredibly low pain. Wish I would have done it a year sooner. I feel amazing!
Had hip replacement surgery today… back home and feeling great. Very grateful to have someone of this caliber in Crawford County. From the check in person to Dr. Molli I cannot thank you all enough for your excellent care!
Dr. Frndak is an amazing surgeon, caring, and devoted to his patients. My first experience with him was in 1994, when, as a new surgeon, he re-replaced my total knee , and most recently, in October of 2019, when he replaced my husband’s hip. I have the utmost faith in him and his skills, and can’t recommend him enough.
My father had a wonderful experience with Dr. Molli and staff! He came out of surgery and was very grateful for how well he was cared for and respected as a patient!! Highly recommend this team!! Thank you for all you do for our community!
My dad went in December 30 for a total knee replacement. February 14th he turned 85 and is back at full movement and extremely happy with the results. Thank you Dr. Molli and your staff for a job well done and helping to keep our dad active.
